Bringing transformational impact one community at a time!
1.Thought leadership
using design thinking approach that develops innovative, strategic solutions around education challenges in sub-Saharan Africa. Because we understand education challenges are not monolithic we focus on identifying local barriers hampering a narrowing of literacy gaps.
2. Strategic partnerships
with leaders, SME's, local and regional organizations. Our localized approach allows us to tailor solutions to local contexts. Kundah takes an inclusive approach in communities it serves in, giving the community a voice to help in addressing challenges impacting access to and the quality of education.
3. Knowledge exchange
through application of our research, partnership engagements, workshops and community engagements to bring transformative impact to one community at a time.
Strategic Pillars - (ARRQE)
Our assistance program anchors education initiatives that serve as our strategic pillars and drive our goals. Kundah strives to harness our collective expertise to achieve two strategic goals of enabling children to gain quality education in a nurturing environment and ensuring that more girls are educated.
i. Access to education: we work with local organizations, leaders and schools to identify a community with the most vulnerable children, our "high risk student assessment" incorporates factors such as, gender, age, family composition, health, household income and household vulnerability. Our tuition assistance program opens doors for vulnerable children giving them access to getting an education, something that they could only dream of before.
ii. Reducing inequality: there are more girls than boys out of school, we are striving to change this by sponsoring more girls.
iii. Resources: if there is going to be an improvement in the quality of education students need the most basic of resources such as textbooks and stationery which they cannot afford, our teachers need our support too.
iv. Quality education: we use design thinking approach to develop innovative solutions geared towards addressing challenges. It’s important that children are in a supportive learning environment, a place of safety and nurturing where education can be used as a core instrument to transform their lives.
v. Empowerment of girls: a lot of girls fall prey to sexual predators and are prone to emotional abuse and child labor which significantly affects their self-esteem and overall performance in class. Putting more girls in school helps in reducing their risk to becoming child laborers, susceptibility to abuse and as well as the simple fact that education empowers and opens the door to a better future for them.
